Overview
This course will deal with public sector economics that are related to government fiscal policy at national, regional (province) and local levels. Topic that will be introduced include government spending, taxing, and financing activities of the government. This course will focus on understanding the role of fiscal policies (public sector economist) to reach of public policy and government’s objectives. The course will also examine the role of government fiscal policy to promote citizens’ welfare and combatting inequality. In addition, students will be introduced to fiscal policy process and context, analytical tools for public finance, and lessons learnt from several case studies from fiscal policies in practices.
