Overview

This course will provide students with key statistical methods for policy-making and decision-taking in the field of public policy. It will include statistics and public policy; statistical measures; sampling concepts; estimation and hypothesis testing; categorical data analysis, time-series analysis; regression analysis, multivariate analysis, and economic and social indicators of development. It will be an applied course with lectures, readings, and practical sessions. During the course, there will be a number of short empirical and practical problems/exercises for discussion. The level of statistical/mathematical requirements is set to the minimum since the objective is the empirical and practical uses of the statistical methods for policy making and decision taking
